Austin Dean Recruitment is actually recruiting for our prestigious client a permanent Staff Grade Doctor in Full-Time. The vacancy is located in Southampton.Our client is a longstanding provider of both private healthcare and services in partnership with the NHS, specialized in CAMHs ward. The Staff Grade Doctor assists the Consultant Psychiatrist in delivering a high quality clinical service to clients referred to and using the services of the secure / step-down unit. He/She works closely with the unit’s multidisciplinary team to ensure that clients receive a holistic and person-centric treatment programme based on the recovery model. Main duties:- Undertake psychiatric and external assessments for clients referred to the unit to determine the appropriate level of care to be provided.- Prepare reports and other associated documentation as necessary e.g. for CPA meetings, as directed and supervised by the Consultant Psychiatrist. - Participation in learning activities and supervision of other non-consultant doctors and other staff. - Participation in Clinical Governance activities, and account for contracted hours utilised in research, Continuing Professional Development and other non-clinical duties as necessary and in a timely manner. - Working effectively with colleagues to ensure that clients have access to appropriate medical cover at all times, which will require participation in an on-call rota for the site. - Exercise flexibility in outlook and respond appropriately in response to reasonable changes in the demands of the service. - Any other duties considered to be commensurate with the level of the post. You must possess an MBBS qualification, or equivalent, and a full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC). You will also be up to date and fit to practice safely. You will be able to demonstrate evidence of foundation training and competencies (or equivalent) including experience of working within the field of psychiatry. Experience of working within a secure and/or step-down setting, and as part of a multi-disciplinary team would be advantageous.
