Clinical Services ManagerSalary - £50,000 Per AnnumLocation - BromleyRoles within the Nursing & Care job family are dedicated to providing treatment and care to promote the mental, emotional and physical independence and wellbeing of patients, children and young people/adults.Main PurposeManages and directs the clinical services operation (nursing and therapy) within one of our client’s hospital, as part of the Senior Management Team, ensuring delivery of an optimum level of clinical care and treatment to all hospital patients. Ensures compliance with statutory regulations and current legislation, meets quality standards, and delivers against key performance indicators.Key Accountabilities1. Manages the effective implementation of clinical interventions and treatment designed to enhance the operation and quality of clinical services evaluating through clinical governance and audit.2. Contributes to the development of our client’s policies, procedures, processes and initiatives.Ensures clinical services comply with statutory regulations and current legislation meet quality standards and deliver against key performance indicators.3. Manages and develops a highly skilled and motivated workforce through recruitment, selection, development and performance management processes.4. Manages the delivery of the clinical services business plan ensuring the effective and efficient management and control of staffing, budgets, materials and equipment.5. Supports and contributes to the maintenance of the business relationships liaising with referrers and prospective purchasers.6. Promotes an effective working relationship across the multidisciplinary teamsKnowledge & SkillsThe role holder will require a relevant professional qualification, a recognised post-registration qualification together with full membership / accreditation of a relevant professional institution. A detailed understanding of statutory regulations is essential, as are financial and people management skills.ExperienceThe role holder will have at least 5 years relevant experience, together with previous supervisory/managerial experience for a group of professional staff.Autonomy & ImpactGenerally working to annual and medium term objectives derived from the clinical services business plan. The role holder is a member of the senior management team and has a significant degree of autonomy and authority, as they are accountable for the effective delivery of the clinical services operation.Intelligent Problem SolvingA major contributor to the development and enhancement of clinical services at a local level where the role holder has to balance conflicting operational demands, which often requires adaptive thinking and some creative problem solving.ResponsibilityStaffFull managerial responsibility for the effective operation and delivery of clinical services through a large team of permanent and temporary staff providing clinical care and treatment24 hours a day, seven days a week.Budgets & equipmentDelegated authority for the clinical services budget and for the care, security and maintenance of equipment and other consumables within the unit.InformaticsResponsibility for the confidentiality, security and accuracy of patients records, data and information.Ensuring that good quality patient documentation which meets regulatory guidelines and statutory requirements.Communication & InteractionA broad range of well-developed communication skills are essential as there is a need for this role to manage highly complex and sensitive situations which require practised presentation, communication, negotiation and conciliation skills to influence the outcome of various patient centred and staff related situations.Working environmentThe problems faced by patients may present difficult and challenging situations, which may heighten the physical, sensory and emotional demands of the role.
