Austin Dean recruitment is currently looking for a Team Leader - Radiotherapy Band 7 for our prestigious client in their Private Clinic based in LondonThe team leader radiographer will lead the radiotherapy service through the clinical and technical delivery of all radiotherapy tasks from referral to follow up. This will include immobilisation, localisation, planning, treatment delivery and patient assessment, management and care to ensure the highest standards of treatment and care at all times.Principal Areas of Responsibility- Develop and implement information and support services and pathways of a patient focused radiotherapy service. - Quality assurance and control tasks as required insuring high quality patient treatments and care. - Training and developing of radiotherapy staff to support the delivery of a high quality radiotherapy service. - Liaising with other services within the organisation to promote high quality evidence based safe and effective treatment and care of patients.Managerial and Organisational - Prioritise and manage own work. - Train, clinically supervise and check the work of radiographers, radiographer helpers and admin and clerical staff within the department as appropriate. - Provide clinical radiotherapy support for other services and personnel within the Clinic.- Keep all records, document and report work as appropriate. - Assist with or manage projects as agreed with the Radiotherapy Services Manager. - Implementing quality assurance mechanisms to ensure the safe implementation of clinical developments. - Implement post graduate clinical training and education within the department in line with clinical practice changes and developments.Clinical, Scientific and Technical - Be familiar with the technical and clinical aspects of radiotherapy as delivered within the Clinic and keep abreast of latest technical and scientific advancements. - Take a leading role in providing clinical and technical advice to consultant medical staff, physicists, dosimetrists and other clinical staff regarding patient treatment. - Provide appropriate clinical advice on clinical issues to all radiotherapy staff. - Investigate and resolve problems on complex patient clinical issues. - Maintain state registration with the HPCPolicy, Service Development and Implementation - Interpret applicable legislation and professional guidelines. Where appropriate, ensure compliance. - Participate in the development and implementation of clinical procedures, protocols and work instructions. - Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the uses, policies, protocols and other developments implemented by other institutions delivering similar patient treatment. Research and Development - Support clinical research as required. - Co-ordinates audit within clinical radiotherapy including the use of audit and audit tools in order to deliver service improvement initiatives. - Perform research in accordance with Ethics Committee approval, Clinical Governance criteria.Education and Training: - Provide instruction and training to physics staff, clinical technologists, consulting medical staff, radiographers, and other Clinic staff. - Supervise the training and professional development of radiographer staff, as needed.Qualifications:? DCR (T) or BSc Radiotherapy State Registration with Health Professionals Council ? Post graduate study ? Evidence of CPD activities commensurate with the post roles and responsibilitiesExperience:? Extensive post qualification clinical experience in all aspects of radiotherapy ? Practical experience of a wide range of radiotherapy equipment ? Experience with IMRT, IGRT and / or respiratory gating ? Experience in dealing with clinical problems ? Experience in managing staff including performance management ? Participation in research or development projectsHours : 35h/weekSalary Range : £39,562 - £50,301 per annum+ Benefits
